BBQ at the Bellish's
Fall is rapidly approaching, which means it is time for the annual BBQ at the Bellish mansion (well, it's a mansion to them!). Enjoy an easy afternoon of fellowship while partaking of a broad array of burgers. Young adults are especially invited and encouraged to bring a favorite game to play. Bring a salad or dessert to share. Main course and drinks will be provided. Sign up is located on the Church Bulletin Board beginning August 22.

On The Lighter Side
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother," she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy answered, "Thou shall not kill."
Portland Spirit Lunch Cruise
God provided us with a perfect day! We arrived in style, via the MAX, stopping the Rose Festival Parade so we could pass to the water front! The weather was ideal, the food was great and the scenery magnificent.After the cruise, many made an adventure of roaming the streets of Portland during the Rose Festival, viewing the floats on display and even visiting the Saturday Market.
Lunch at Camp 18
Huge portions, friendly atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and Oregon history all around made our trip to Camp 18 wonderful.

The Victory Liner - Part 2

Pastora Vicky Nubla is very well known for her compassionate and generous heart. Priscilla and I were blessed to meet her at a women's retreat in Batangas, Philippines. She invited us to speak at her radio program in Manila. The topic was "Labor Day" so we thought, until the Holy Spirit had us praying for the nation and the elections and the families. It was a divine appointment. Little did we know that the Lord was planning for us to work together in ministry. Pastora Vicky pastors a church in Manila, has three hospitals where she prays for the patients to receive the Lord, most of them are terminal.
As Priscilla and I continued to travel in the Victory Liner Bus, accepting invitations to preach even in remote areas, we were met with grateful pastors eager to hear the Word of the Lord.
Even though we stayed in the Philippines for a month, we were not able to attend to all the invitations. but before we left Oregon, we knew that Rev. Lyn Brown was preaching in a women's conference there in the Philippines in Bulacan. So we made it a point to attend, not really knowing that it took more than two hours by bus, tricycle (part motorcycle-part buggy) and jeepny (a 30 passenger "station wagon" is the best I can describe it). When we finally arrived, the conference was almost over. Here we are with Lyn Brown.
