Raúl Giménez

Raúl was born in Argentina where he came to know the Lord in his early teens and felt a clear calling to the ministry. While enrolled in the Bible Institute in Buenos Aires at the age of 18, he met and fell in love with a classmate, Clara, whom he married four years later. They have two grown children, David and Claudia, and two grandchildren. Raúl and Clara served in a church planting ministry in Argentina until they immigrated to the USA. They spent six years in Puerto Rico where they served in local churches in various leadership capacities, church plants, evangelism, and radio ministry. In 1973 they moved back to mainland USA and Raúl enrolled in Reformed Bible College, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Upon graduation they applied for missions work in Argentina with the Christian Reformed World Mission where they served for three years. After their return from Argentina, Raúl completed his Master of Christian Education at Calvin Theological Seminary. In 1985, while David enrolled at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Raúl, Clara, and Claudia moved to Oregon, believing the Lord was leading them to start an evangelistic outreach in the Portland Metro Area. Four years later they joined New Song Community Church and in 1992, with the encouragement and support of the leadership of this church, Nuevo Día Ministries was born. As part of its calling to reach the nations, Nuevo Día has been providing spiritual support, friendship, and financial assistance to pastors and leaders across denominational lines, encouraging them in their particular visions and ministries in countries like Guatemala, Cuba, Argentina, and Italy.

A new chapter for Raúl and Nuevo Día Ministries began at Life Church in 2009. Nuevo Día merged with Life Church, believing and embracing a mutual kingdom-minded vision to reach out to all languages and cultures with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and gained a new name: Vida Church. The name itself reflects the oneness and spirit of this new journey.
